Great idea PPD about deleting expired comps. :T If people who come across them find them then maybe c&p comp & #No so we can delete them. I also like the idea of the list of mags with EF's only.
Thanks for all your hard woek PPD :T much appreciated :A And to all who keep my fave part of the comps thread going
xx
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Ok, at the risk of being controversial  I often like to check back on some comps that have expired, sometimes I check a text against it to make sure it was right, other times I see what the last issue of a mag was, sometimes I use them as templates when I'm posting, sometimes if I win things I like to go back & find which one I have won & what the prize is
There's loads of times I look back on expired comps in here
Like the entry form ideaxx JoJo xx

While this sounds a good idea because it will remove some of the clutter, if expired comps are deleted I wont know who posted the original so can't thank them when I win! On the main board the expired comps are moved so you can still search and find them.
Also if you delete posts from the thread will that change the page numbering and post numbering - I keep a running index of where I've got to by page number and post number - saves me hunting for the last post I thanked.
I think removing expired comps is just an extra admin task that isn't really needed.Best Comp wins in 25 years of comping. Holidays to Hawaii, Toronto, Thailand twice, Dubai twice, Cyprus, Spain, Lake District, Glasgow and London. A couple of £1000 wins as vouchers. 2 Dimplex Fires. Baby cot and chest of drawers. £500 of blinds. Shibumi Jacket. Various small cash prizes under £500 and shopping vouchers. Cosmetics & weedkiller!0 -

i didnt say to remove the expired comps, sorry wasnt clear on that, that cant be done on this thread sadly as if you remove one post then it will move the whole thread to game over, deleting is not an option, like sweetie, i also look back on posts and use the templates etc saves massive typing everytime plus if people are searching for a win, they will go nuts if they cant find it:rotfl:
what i meant was to put up a list of all the active comps on the first page but on thinking this through and pm's from others, realise that there is no way i would have the time to do that, will just go with the tips/questions and list of entry forms from mags0 -
From Daily Star Sunday - REHAB section.
Have put end date as 28/08 but this may be too long, the Bushell contests in the Star Sunday normally only have an end date of 3 days later! So could possibly be 25/08. I will leave it to your discretion
Win one of ten copies of the CD; Hed Kandi – Ibiza 2010.
For your chance to win, write to:

Sorry, thats just me being thick! I never thought about that amsquared
I would like to see who posted any wins to thank them too!
It would be nice to de-clutter a bit for the ones that have expired but as you say PPD I dont think theres any way round it!
Maybe if a comp was to expire say next day, maybe someone could c&p it to let folks know to enter should they come across it. I know its hard to keep up with the postals sometimes! I've only just caught up myself.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
it was just when i went through 50 pages the other day and the mass of expired comps was huge  took me all day to work through it all, own fault for not keeping up:rotfl:just got me thinking if there was a way round it but sadly not:(0
