In PC World in-store they have a special offer - buy Doom 3 for £19.99 and get Half-Life 2 for just £14.99. Fantastic bargain if you haven't got both games but want them.
Haven't checked to see if this is available online yet.

I wouldn't know because I don't have either of these. But it could be an opportunity to buy both, flog Doom3 for £15 and you've got Half-Life 2 for £20?

It wants 1Gb RAM as well. (there's a huge difference between 512Mb and 1Gb with it).

Just turn down the graphics options as most of the time you can't see anything.

I agree DOOM3 was disappointing. Half Life 2 is excellent.

yeh i bought doom3 and farcry for 32.98 which wasnt bad fron virgin as i had some vouchers to use in this overpriced shop.


doom3 was 19.99 and it isnt even 2p in my book....unplayable unless you can see in the dark....farcry is superb though....bit like halo though the enemy has better ai

I have both and graphics card and RAM to match.

Of the 2 Half Life 2 is by far the best for gameplay. Doom 3 is sucky and repetetive, good graphics if you can manage them though. This is a good deal, I got them both for full retail and Half Life 2 was definitely worth that. So go buy them: its a steal, then sell Doom 3.

I was'nt too blown away with Doom 3 either - far too pedictable for me.....endless corridors of hot pipes and steam - got fed-up with it fast.

...and even with my not bad ATI 9700 pro graphics which has handled everything so far with ease, strugled with Doom...(only got 512 of ram at the moment)...so I edited the DoomConfig.cfg file in the root directory by changing the [seta image_cacheMegs] value from "20" to "200" - I noticed a slight performance increase...........made it playable at least.....

Lucky i did'nt pay for my Doom 3
