Update: The Post Office will offer us 3.49, and the broker has now decided there are other similar deals out there after all. I KNEW we could do better!
OK, so saying 'we won't move then' was a bit knee-jerk, but seriously that's £200 a month or nearly £2.5k a year, so I feel a bit grumpy at those who suggested we should be grateful of 4.9% (brokers who should know better in particular).0 -
Unless there is something else that is limiting lenders, or you are asking for something in particular, you should be able to go lower.
If you do not feel happy, then get a second opinion .
