Working tax credit help

I have been a single dad (with custody) for around 4 years, currently a full time student nurse and therefore unable to commit to a perminant job. My wonderful girlfriend and I are currently costing out moving in together so we are going through our finances with a fine tooth comb. One thing that I an insure of though is how we stand with the tax credits. We do no live together at the moment and therefore my claim is in my own name, however once we move in to our own place will we have to get a joint claim? And if so would she be able to claim working tax credits? She works full time.
Thanks for any help in advance.

yes you would move onto a joint claim, the hmrc site has a ool on there that will calculate your entitlement, but as you are astudent i would give them a call and say you are thinking of moving in together can they give you an idea of what you may get, you will need oh's p60 details0

I work while my partner is a full-time student and we get working tax credits so you should be able to get them. Not sure how they work with child tax credits though, would suggest ringing up the tax credits helpline, they're normally pretty helpful.0

Well the thing is, at the moment I get the lone parent suppliment which we would loose, but we should get the working tax credit. According to the online questionnaire.
