sick pay

can any one tell me how i can get sick pay from my company i was off back in april due to a knee op had a sick note but my company still (today) not yet paid me and im now fed up with asking them when im going to paid for this time off .

  • You could perhaps get in touch with acas who specialise in employment disputes, and could help you with earnings you are due but have not been paid.

    Not sure what you mean by "sick pay". Do you mean SSP (which should be paid automatically provided you qualify for it - or company pay, which is contractual and depends on whether they pay sick pay. What reason have they given for not paying it?
  • Thanks all for your reply yes it was SSP and the company just keep passing the buck as they say. im getting so angry with the company i work for, and yes im intiled to SSP ive even worked out for them ,ive just email the manager yet again to see what the excuse is the month .

    What have been the excuses in previous months?

    Perhaps ask them for an interest free loan to cover the missing SSP, repayable by a deduction in wages whenever they decide to get their finger out.

  • just an update my employer said that i have to earn £110 a week to claim ssp but on direct.gov web page its £97 a week which i earn just over this and have pointed this out to them awaiting for there reply on this( but dont hold my breath )
