Mortgage Offer - Impatient

Hi all
I am currently awaiting my mortgage offer from the Halifax and I wondered if anyone on here would be able to give me some advice and guidance. I know there have been quite a few threads on here about similar topics but I couldn't find a definitive answer so hence the new post.
I received an AIP from Halifax via my IFA around a month ago prior to viewing houses. I had an offer accepted on a house and application for mortgage in full started 2 weeks ago. The valuation was done 10 days ago and since then I have had to provide further documents to back up my application such as payslips, bank statements etc. I had 2 defaults 2 years ago totalling no more than £500 combined which I have paid in full over a year ago and have also sent them letters of confirmation of this. I have 15% deposit on a property valued and purchased at £154,950 my salary is £36k per year with all current bills up to date. I am a first time buyer, separated from my husband living back at my mum's.
Am I right to think this is dragging on and could they now reject my application? I want to be excited about my new house but can't help worrying that I'm going to get a phonecall from my IFA saying sorry we've rejected you.
Any advice greatly received. Thanks

Hi and welcome to MSE
There isn't any point in us speculating as to whether it would be declined.
I'd suggest ringing your broker and getting them to chase Halifax for an update. They may well just have a high amount of applications at the moment hence the delay.0 -
Thanks Andy, he's been chasing everyday and they keep saying no update yet so just stuck in limbo!0

Has he? Or is that what he's been telling you?
As the process will take as long as it takes.0 -
Well I know the IFA quite well so would be surprised if he has been 'fobbing me off'. I just didn't think they'd do the valuation if there were doubts about the mortgage offer.0

Hi, did you get the offer in the end?0
