Century Finance
Hi,
I've been looking for a loan of £3000 and I put my details into the main loan screen at moneyexpert.com; the confirmation screen following this told me that I'd be contacted.
Today, I received a phone call from a company called Century Finance; after confirming that I had placed my details for a loan of £3000, the caller told me that, good news, the lender had approved my application.
He then told me that an email would be sent to me with details of setting up the direct debit for the monthly payments, and that the money would be with us within 5-7 days of me making a £59.95 admin payment.
Now, I don't normally apply for loans and am a bit worried, as they seem to have approved my loan without taking any banking details, monthly outgoings, etc. from me.
So, my question is thus; has anyone ever heard of, or dealt with, Century Finance? Friends have told me that the fact they require an admin fee means that they require this to actually do the search, and there is no guarantee that a lender would have been found for me. Would this be the case?
Thanks in advance to all those who get back to me on this.

There is one guarantee...
You will pay your fee and get absolutely no loan whatsoever.
The closest you will get is having payday loan comapanies harrassing you 24/70 -
I was contacted today by century finance who offered me a guaranteed loan of £2000 subject to a brokerage fee of £69.95.Unfortunately I gave them my credit card details for taking the fee and I am now worried that it may be a scam. Is this company legitimate and can I cancel the transaction . They promised me the money within 5 to 7 days.
any help appreciated,
Thanks,
Jan0 -
you will need to write to them and ask for the money back, they can retain £5.00 of the fee.
These companies have been at this game for a long time now, it is sort of a scam, some people do choose to run with a loan they find you from someone like flm loans perhaps who require a home owner to be a guarentor for the loan.
But nearly all of them follow the lines of:
"congratulations you have been approved, all i need is your credit card number to varify your id" - they will then steal the fee.
"we need a admin fee to do the credit check" - complete bull crap, they just want to nick your cash.
"you will have the loan documents in 7 days - we just need the processing fee" - again a load of poop
old faithfull is, "the money will be in your bank in 5 days we guarentee it - you just need to pay the arrangement fee" - yawn, full of it.
"all you need to do is phone this 09 number you will be billed 1.50 a min, if they cant give you a loan send your phone bill in and we will refund you etc etc" - horse balls.
the list is endless, the bottom line DO NOT PAY A BROKER TO FIND A LOAN FOR YOU, THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT AND IT COULD TAKE MONTHS TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK.
What you need to do: write to the company that have taken the money, ask for the fee back, they may refund you they may not, they are legally allowed to keep £5.00 of what you have paid, so they win everytime, you on the otherhand do not.
I still cannot believe so many people can be so nieve about these companies, even after they have been featured on watch dog, and are all over this forum, the cag forum etc yet time and time again people crop up on here posting saying they have been scammed.
dont fall for it guys and gals, just remember do not pay an upfront fee for a loan.:j:beer: :j0
