Suggestions for "Thank you" present

Hi folks,
I'm looking to buy a thank you gift for someone who was my "mentor" at a volunteering role I do. They didn't have to do the massive amount of work they put in with me, but that they did, and I'd like to say "thank you" somehow beyond just words.
I don't really know what to do. A bottle of wine/beer is boring.
Suggest me something different?
He's male, mid-30's, not-quite-married, plays the drums.. no kids.
