I think in the Winter time when everyone is covered from head to foot a few minutes weak sunshine on the face is better for you and gives you a little vitamin D which we all need . Unless you are spending hours outside then I'd rather get my ration of vitamin D than worry how many wrinkles a little sun is going to give me... Didn't someone get scurvy or rickets recently because she was using sunscreen all year round?

I wear Piz Buin factor 15 on my face in the summer, comes in a small flat tube, I bought mine from Home Bargains a year or two ago and its still going strong, think I paid about £2.99

I use Avons facial sunscreen SPF30 in the summer months and find it non greasy and a little goes a long way. The rest of the year I wear a moisturiser with an SPF. I dont need much exposure to make my nose go red! lol!
  • Lush sell a face moisturiser named Ultralight, which has SPF 10 in.
    It quite a nice moisturiser.

They are brining a new one out next week, which is SPF30, so it will be on their webpage next week.

You can ask for samples of these too if you go into store.

I use Superdrug Vitamin E moisturiser all year round, which has SPF15 in it. If it's very hot and I think I am likely to be out in the sun all day, I'll put on a proper suntan lotion instead. I've got a facial one I bought from Tesco, but I've used a normal one as well without any problems. My skin is sensitive, but I can usually tell by the smell if something will irritate it.

Can anyone recommend a facial sunscreen that is fairly matte ?
I have to use a high SPF as am pale and burn really easily! :(

but hate the shiny effect, and would like to be able to put powder / concealer over the top

I tried the L'oreal one last yr but it didn't rub in properly and left white bits !
