***Irishgal Update***

Ok, so I’ve been on this site since the end of June and have shifted €1,000 of my debt while also moving out and starting to pay rent and bills!!

Everything is going fine but I am starting a new job on Monday as a result I have fewer hours to work but also less pay! When I originally posted my SOA it was suggested I needed to sort out a second job…which I have sorted along with a less regular 3rd job!! Such a glutton for punishment am I!

So here is my new SOA:

Income Monthly:
Job 1 €1170
Job 2 €433.33
Job 3 €260 (approx may be a lot more some months; this is a cautious estimate)

Total: €1863.33 approx

Outgoing Monthly:
Rent €450
Electric €20
Gas €20
TV License € 6.46
Car Ins €60.80
Car Tax €12.60
Petrol €130
Food €80-90 – covering food and toiletries
Car Loan €150
Credit Union €135
Mobile PAYG €40
Clothes €20
Prescription €8.40
Going Out €40

Total: €1183.26

My Debts are:

Credit Union Loan: €3203.76 2.2% APR – Minimum €25 a week plus interest
Car Loan: €2,950 0% APR (family loan) – Minimum €150 month

Since the end of June I have been paying any extra I have in my account off my Credit Union Loan and have changed my DFD from July08 to May 08 so far. The bolded figures are all paid into a separate basic account on a monthly basis. I rounded this figure up from €569.86 to €650 in order to cover any emergencies for the car or other.

Is there anything extra I should be putting money aside for? I know that because I am dealing with Euro and Irish rates it is difficult for you guys, but any general help is much appreciated!

Thanks guys xxx

Hello there and well done :T for having such ordered finances. I can't comment on the costs as, as you say, the difference in currency makes it difficult but I was wondering about home insurance and water rates. Do you not have to pay those?

    Also, how about ~Christmas/birthdays/haircuts?

Keep up the good work! ;)

  • Hi!

Theres no water rates or council tax in Ireland. Home insurance is covered in with the rent. I put some money away for christmas and birthdays in with my bills money.

I'm lucky that my younger cousin is training to be a hairdresser so shes been 'practising' on me, so it only costs me if i want to colour my hair, which i dont! I usually buys her little presents from my boots pigsback vouchers because she wont take money!

Thanks for the compliment on the organised finances; doesnt work out that way sometimes but you live and try!!
