HI I bought a dress for the races on ebay at the beginning of the month it was brand new with tags and arrived quickly. I tried it on and liked it and put it away knowing it needed pressing.
We go to the races on Saturday so took the dress to the shop to day for it to be pressed and the assistant called me up straight away to ask if I'd seen that parts of the hem on the taffeta had not been stitched properly and were hanging off and the taffeta had started to run.
I know I should have checked it but it was brand new and the ebay shop i bought it from only sells dresses - and it's not something I would have seen myself trying it on (if I'd bought it from a shop in town i wouldn't have noticed it).
So where do I stand I've already left positive feedback can I still make a claim to paypal? It was the 2nd June when I purchased it. I'm so annoyed with myself

you have up to 45 days to make a paypal claim. Email the seller first and see what they say. Feedback means nothing as regards any claim and will be ignored.0

Thanks for the quick reply have sent the seller a email keeping my fingers crossed.
How would i go about claiming from paypal (if I need to):beer:0 -
Item not as described within ebay dispute0

Has it still got the tags in? (which will act as proof that you haven't worn it and ripped it yourself over the time you've had it).Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Had a email back from the seller offering partial refund and that i keep the dress. How much is a partial refund?? The dress cost £21 so what should I expect half?:beer:0

Well, probably just the cost of a repair I would say would be fair as a refund ... does the shop you use for cleaning also do these repairs?0

yes the girl said she'd repair it when i was there but couldn't do it before sat said it would cost £12.00 feel a bit cheeky asking for this much though...............:beer:0

email the seller, they can always request the dress back and a refund.
I bet they offer you say £7-8 of the £12 as a refund, though i would consider sending it back if you dont need it in time and see something else.0 -
I would be honest seen as you have already said that it was one of those things difficult to notice, you felt you had a bargain at 21 quid otherwise you would not have bought it.............................
Therefore I would tell the seller it is going to cost £12 and see what they say from there, if it were me and something I really liked I would be happy with a £6 refund but I do appreciate not everyone is a kind hearted........................"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0
