Hi everyone.,..

I dont really know where im supposed to enter this thread so please forgive me for its appearance just here...:(
Im in a panic and really dont understand what i should do...
My father passed away in December last year and i took in my siblings... We got a solicitor to help us with the barrage of things coming our way from his wife ( been apart for 12 year whilst she was having numerous affairs - but my father passed away 10 days before he was supposed to have his papers sorted out for the divorce )
ANyway. I did what i could to try and get some of estate to go to the people and things e wanted.... but.... Heres the catch .... I spoke to the solicitors who said would take on the case via phone and the man we dealt with said " dont worry about funds we will be able to get legal aid ". Both my self and my husband both lost our jobs the day my dad died - we all worked together. So that felt as if we had someone in the know on our side of things.... we agreed... I signed the forms he had.... and once again he reiterated that there would be legal aid...... we left.

He sent out 4 letters and sent us a bill just short of £900.... We we shocked i spoke to guy and he said.... " no u cant get legal aid now and i never said we could." ... I said well to be honest i cant afford to pay that kind of money we are struggling to eat never mind that. He said just pay what ever you can when you can... Today i have another law firm based closer to us now stating that unless i pay in full with 7 days....
"we are instructed to issue proceedings against you without further notice. As your debt exceeds £750 this may include insolvency proceeding against you

If anyone thinks they may know something that would help or anything at all that works please let me know..../ They lied and they totally ignore you hence please can someone tell me what they think please...

Thankyou so much in advance

they wont go down the insolvency route, will cost them £500+ todo it. You should approach the cab for advice, but not sure everything is been stated in the post.
