Egg...

Has anyone else received what I have today - apparantly Egg like to treat their customers as indviduals and therefore after a review of my credit card and the way I manage my account (min payments but haven't used card for approx.10mths) they are very helpfully going to raise my APR from....wait for it 15.9% to 21.9% - talk about kick a girl when she's down - no wonder people say money goes to money...when you have none, people want to take even more of it !! - Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

Least they told you, I rang Abbey (my cc) the other day to be told they had increased my APR from 17.9% to 24%! They said they sent me a letter (yeah right!) but I never recieved it.
Wouldnt have noticed but they've changed my card to one of those 'earn points as you spend' cards, and I rang them to confirm a few things. Luckily they said they would reduce it back down to 17.9%

I had one from egg saying they were reducing APR on purchases to 9.9, but raising it for cash advanced. 21.9 seems very very high...
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.
  • They reduced mine from 15.9% to 5.9% as we hold a mortgage there.
Had been just about to transfer it to a loan at 6.9%

Apparently lots of people have had the message you had - there is a post on credit card board.

At least they let you know. OH' s cahoot loan has gone from 11.9 to 12.9 to 13.9 in last to months. Looked yesterday and it is 14.9!! He took it out at 8.9 We are moving it...fast!
