Argos Vouchers"£5 When You Spend" Question ...

Clearing out a drawer I found two long forgotten £5 Argos vouchers from 2003, which I recieved in one of their regular "Spend 25 and get a free £5 voucher" promotions.

They are stamped with a "Must Be Used By... Date".

I'm not familiar with Argos vouchers but they look like "regular" "standard" vouchers that would be normally sold that have been stamped, as opposed to specially printed vouchers for a particular promotion.

Obviously they are long "out of date".

Has anyone ever had any luck redeeming theese after the date stamped ?

Has anyone every had any luck with Customer Services being generous or helpful ?

Or has anyone got any good tips for a magical substance that will remover the stamped ink but leave the vouchers undamaged ! :rotfl:

Sorry m8, they dont... I even wrote to customer services either to issue a new voucher or allow using it. They retained the voucher and said sorry.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Wait until the next promotion and then resta nice hot cup of coffee that leaves a ring just over the date so it cant be read.
    Nice to save.
  • Dont know if that will work...Argos dont have the paper gift vouchers any more, its electronic gift cards as of this year so any promos from now on will be on these.
  • Funny this subject should come up, and I'm not sure if I should admit this but here goes anyway. I found a £5 voucher exactly as you describe in the back of my wallet a couple of weeks ago from last year. The voucher had the date stamped as being valid from the end of July until the middle of August (but no year). I happened to be in Argos buying an item which they got very wrong the previous day in another store (which left me waiting over an hour only to be told, "we can't find it").

Part of me wondered if they'd take it as I was entitled to the discount last year but forgot to use it as I thought they were indeed using gift cards now they wouldn't take it, and I was still a little anoyed over the previous day. When paying I handed over the voucher, the woman had a good look at the voucher, took her glasses off and said "you know this is only valid until the 14th?" I said, "oh, I didn't know". She went off to check something and came back saying "I thought this was the 15th, so you're just on time" :)

Discounted my item by £5, and took my payment. I left the shop smiling :)

The coffee ring thing won't work as the promotional vouchers all have the same expiry dates and only promotional vouchers have expiry dates. There arn't any promotional vouchers that are still current so you can try but I doubt you'll get anywhere.
