Working from home

Hello everyone,

I'm interested in finding a job where I can work from home. I had read some good reviews about Lionbridge but unfortunately my application was unsuccessful. I have also heard that Arise employ home telephone agents but that the pay can be very low? Does anybody have any personal experiences with these types of companies or any similar companies that they could reccomend to me?

Lisa :)

    Would you consider becoming self-employed?

There are positives and negatives from working at home. I have been doing it for a few years.

    For***
    Work what hours you like
Watch/listen to your favourite programmes when you like
Watch the football without asking your boss
    Be home for the kids
    No transport costs

    Against***
No fun and chat with workmates (I really miss this)
Start Monday AM at £0 .... and then worry were this weeks money will come from
    Boredom by yourself

    Good Luck

  • Hi,
I started working from home in January as I have 3 small children and wanted something that I could work around them. I love it and although I am not earning huge amounts of money it is definitely worth it. I am a trader for a well-known card company which means it's not lonely working because I am usually selling to my friends, family and their friends and family.

i would definitely recommend it if your circumstances allow it.

    Hope you find something!

It depends on the job really, I'm not sure about becoming a distributor as they are usually commision based and I'd like something with a fixed wage.

Thanks for your post! What kind of work do you do from home if you don't mind me asking?

Commision-based job is really not a favourite thing, however, because you work at home, nobody know what you did and how is the result, so if you request a fixed wage, then how many money you should get is also a hard work for your employer.

Are you on twitter or facebook? They go a long way to help with social isolation from home working. Enterprise nation on twitter have a #watercoolermoment at 11am everyday and quite often have video chats and such like too.
