Hi
I got a loan from PDA.com. Yes, don't judge. I was in a bad situation personally and could not repay these loans so I cancelled my bank card. This was back in March/April. Today PDA took money from my card totalling £35, making me overdrawn ( I don't have an overdraft) using my OLD card details. Are they permitted to do this?
I have written to them requesting their bank details so I can start a payment arrangement as I realise this is the best course of action, so please don't have a go.
Should I change bank accounts to prevent this happening?
Advice gratefully received,
Thanks
Louise

I'm confused how they took money out of your bank if you had cancelled your bank card and got a new one?0

Im guessing they made up an auth code, tell your bank and they ll more than likely do a charge back.

I have spoken to my bank and they said that if there is an outstanding debt, the company can do this? I had never heard of this before but they said it is likely to be in their t&c.
I am now emailing PDA. I know I am in wrong here by not paying BUT they are just plunging me into more debt....I don't suppose they care much!0 -

My experience with PDA is that if you email them as soon as you are aware you'll have trouble repaying, they'll help you.
I'm not judging but if you cancelled your card and haven't paid since March/April then they are within their rights to take payments from you to repay the loan that you signed the agreement for
I have been seriously in debt to payday loan companies and am just at the point of clearing it all but it has taken many months and i have given up a lot to do this. At the end of the day i signed the loan agreement and accept responsibility for what i owed.
I hope you get things sorted.0 -
thanks for your advice, I have now come to an agreement with PDA. I think what was shocking to me was that they could still take money using old card details ( and according to them, these were taken at the end of april and march but only showing now?)
Anyway, agreement has now been arranged and I have their bank details - I cans safely say that I won't be touching payday loans again -0
