Relationship breakdown & mortgage

Hi there,

I bought the house that I am currently living in with my boyfriend over two years ago. Unfortunately, we have recently broken up. I am just wondering if any one can give me some advice on what to do? Neither of us want to stay at the property but we also want to leave pretty sharpish.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Is there any equity in the property? Does he want half of that equity?

If you both just want out, then put the property on the market at a relatively cheap price (assuming you have sufficient equity to do that).

Do either of you have family nearby you could stay with until the house sells?

As Annisele says, your only option if neither of you want to stay is to sell it. The cheaper you put it on the market for the faster it will sell but don't go too low straight away!
