Lawyers Demands Thousands or Court :(

Long story short, had a car repod at the begining of the year. Only had it for a year, but lost my job. Anyway it was sold at auction leaving 4 thousand outstanding on what was still owed, received a letter demanding this money, which i ignored as basicaly im not working and didnt receive anything like the fair market value of the vehicle. I now have a new letter demanding 7 thousand pounds, which i have no intention of paying.

What will most likely be the outcome of there money chasing ways?, will they try and arrange a summons?

Any info would be appreciated,

I would suggest you start withn a prove it letter to find out why the sum has increased massively.

Also talk to national debt line to find out how this is tackled. i assume this is not legally unsecured debt but you need to conform this.

The biggest problem will be if they go for legal action and then try to chase you with bailiffs.

It might be better to reply to them explaining that you have not work and are in no position to pay. if you have no assets, make sure they know.
