    Dear Boss,

I am really good and have done some nice stuff. I worked in a warehouse and therefore think that I will be perfect for your advertised role of Airline Pilot.

    Cheers mate,

Read the OPs sig, then feel suitably ashamed!

OP, your cover letter really needs to be different for each job you apply for so that it matches what they're looking for. What's your next application?

You say you're unskilled, but if you've worked in a warehouse you could say you are able to follow instructions accurately, able to work as part of a team, able to meet targets, wiling and able to undertake physically strenuous work.

You probably have lots of skills you haven't even thought of!

    Dear <Mr Smith>,

I am writing to apply for the position of <General Dogsbody> as advertised in <the Local Rag> dated <yesterday>.
I enclose my CV for your attention <make sure it is attached!>
Whilst I have no direct experience of working as a <General Dogsbody>, my previous work at <Warehouse> gave me valuable experience in <producing quality work to strict deadlines> whilst further developing my skills in communication, teamwork and problem solving. I am an excellent timekeeper, reliable and willing to work hard and further develop my skills.
I have further skills in <anything relevant> gained from <where ever you have the skills - eg for cleaning you could say in assisting friends and family with deep-cleaning their homes for end-of-tenancy inventory checks>

I hope that you will consider me for the role, and I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

    Yours sincerely

@ Proc - You are mean

To the OP, have you got two people that can act as referees? It's a good idea to ask them first so that they will be expecting the letter/phone call/email etc.

And put their names and addresses on your CV rather than just putting "references available on request". Why? Because it makes life easier for the employer and works in your favour. :D

    Hi,

I just want to wish you all the luck in the world for getting a job.

From the tone and wording of your posts, you have no probs at all in communicating with people. As for being unskilled, you probably have loads of skills as another poster pointed out, so it might be more accurate to say you don't have any formal training or qualifications.

Please let us know how you get on, and don't lose heart if it takes a while - it's tough out there at the mo.
