Hi
I am on the lookout for a cheap Turntable which will allow me to record my old LP Collection onto CD via my PC. The cheapest so far I have found is a Busn Turntable from Tescao.co.uk for 34.99 including delivery.
Thanks

Why not buy a cheap, old stereo system with turntable out of the paper or at a car boot sale? As long as it has some form of output from the amplifier to connect into your PC then you're onto a winner (line-out, not speaker-out obviously!).
A friend at work gave me an old separates system and I use it for just this purpose. Not sure if simply buying a turntable will be enough as you normally need a specific phono-stage which is usually part of the amplifier rather than the turntable itself. Not sure if the signal will be sufficient from the turntable alone.
Hopefully someone else can clarify the above as i'm not 100% sure that its correct.
EDIT: After looking at the turntables on Tesco.co.uk, i'm guessing that you were looking at the Bush MTT1? Richer Sounds site states that it does include a phono-stage so should plug straight into your PC with the appropriate RCA-mini jack lead. Still cheaper to buy an old secondhand system although new is obviously nice and saves spaceHe huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0 -
I've got one of the Bush turntables and it works a treat . Just remember to switch the pre-amp on .
I also agree with Malestrom's idea tho' , but you may need to buy a preamp (around £15) for it to work thru your PC.Growing OLD is Compulsory
Growing UP is OPTIONAL !!0
