Help needed on a tricky tax question...

in Cutting tax
Hello,
This is my first post to these boards, and even though I tried my best to find the answer to tax questions, I didn't find anything satisfying.
This is, in short, my situation:
I'm working for a french company at the moment (I'm french) and will be moving to London on July 1st to work in a UK company.
From what I've seen, I will be given an emergency tax code (which one, bot sure) with my first payslip so that I can start paying tax.
My questions are:
1/ In which country will I pay taxes (usually, it's in the one you got your residency, but in France, tax years start on january 1st, not in the UK...)
2/ Given I will have spent as pretty much as many days in France and in the UK, may I have the right to choose ?
3/ If I pay taxes in the UK, should I declare my french income? What would be my emergency tax code ?
4/ If I pay tax in France, how will I have a tax refund in the UK ? (In France, there is no such thing as PAYE, you pay your taxes at the end of the year).
Bonus question: In case none got a clear answer, I'd be gratefull to have a contact of an account specialized in these issues.
Many thanks !

Don't know much about the French side but as you will be working for a UK company you will more than likely to be due to pay UK tax and there will also be a double taxation agreement which will mean it is unlikely you will have to pay tax in France.
You will probably need to contact the French tax authorities to tell them you have left and for further guidance:

I'm not well experienced in this area, only occasionally dealing with similar situations. It looks as though you will be resident in the UK but not domiciled here. There is also a question of 'ordinary residence' which can affect the position.
This link will take you to the HMRC website where you might want to read about these definitions.
As I see it you will pay tax in the UK on your income here (as you are resident here).
You may have to declare your French income but you will be able to claim double tax relief.
I have no idea how the French authorities deal with things but as they signed the Double Tax treaty it is probably similar. If it’s not important to you, don’t consume it0
