I'm sorry but as I said before you cannot say that your daughters friends or your son have ever eaten, brushed, drunk exactly the same.

As you now know to get decay you don't need to have drunk loads of fizzy pop or sweets or have sugar added to loads of meals , you just need to have eaten or drunk something that will promote an acid attack several times a day.

The fact that presumably your daughter had few problems until around the age of ten then had alot of problems with both baby and adult teeth and now at 13 ,having just finished braces, is much better should tell you something.

I have taken teeth out in 1 and 2 year olds and I have taken adult teeth in 7 year olds where the teeth have only been through a year. If your daughter truely had weak teeth why would her problems have been worse around 10? If she needed root treatment at 10 on a adult tooth that had only been in her mouth 4 years at most why had she not had terrible problems with her baby teeth years before?

Something must have changed in her diet, brushing etc at around 8,9,10 and then changed for the better particularly as she has been good looking after her brace.

Well done for getting things under control but years and years of research have proved that other than some rare conditions your daughter doesn't have there is no such thing as weak teeth.

The other really bad time for increased decay is when people get elderly. I have many patients who have kept their teeth into their 80s and then they start to decay rapidly..... Is this because the teeth are weak? No it's because they take medication which dries their mouth out stopping saliva neutralising acid, they can't brush so well due to arthritis or their carers don't brush their teeth , and finally because their sense of taste diminishes or because they are in homes , they eat alot of sugary based foods, sweets , medicines etc.
