Sky Broadband?

Hello!

Am thinking about getting sky for new flat and have read elsewhere on the site they are offering free broadband in certain areas if your package is over £30 a month.

Sky said that they cannot do it in my area as of yet, but it should be available in "a few months" (I live in Cardiff)...

Does anyone know if this is just a ploy to get people to sign up when they really have no intention of expanding it outside of a few select areas (I'm guessing london/home counties), or if they will genuinely be expanding this ?
Also, is it £30 per month excluding offers (ie if my package would ordinarily cost £34 a month but is currently less because of an offer, would I still be elig
ible?)

Any help greatly appreciated as usual

Minski

Im having major probs with skybroadband at the mo, engineer came on monday to fit the box and couldnt get it working, so i tried and still no joy so an hours phone call later they thought it may be a prob with the line and they would sort it and it should be ok in 2 days, so fastforward 2 days and some chap answers the phone when i ring back and he keeps claiming im having my box fitted next monday, and i got to a stage where i ended up shouting at the man "ive got the bleeding box here and its been fitted" anyway this went on and on, and he said phone back today and I just have and they said it wont be active till 7th sept.

Anyway I suppose there are plenty of people out there who have had the service fitted and they are happily surfing away but I just thought I would give you an insight into my saga.

    all the best

Go here and enter your details. When you get the results click on LLU xDSL on the left. Look for Easynet and see what it says. This is the network SKY are using for their broadband. In my case it just says "not yet available". I could however have the "Connect" package for £17.99 a month I believe.

AFAIK there is no minimum subscription, it's available to all customers. (I think the Orange deal required a minimum phone package of £30).

phatbear - What "box" are they fitting? Is it the wireless router? I read it was the Netgear DG834GT that was being supplied.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!
