JSA: Signing twice a week?

Hi there, I was wondering if someone can tell me whether reporting to the job centre twice a week is a normal practice?

For the past 2 weeks, i have had to go in twice a week to meet with my PA and to sign on. Usually i would do both on the same day but for some reason it has changed.

I live quite a way from my Jobcentre and the travelling costs are killing me. I am currently on Stage 2, so is it expected that i should report to the job centre twice a week from now on? Is anyone else signing on twice a week?

They should normally see you on your signing day for adviser appointments but it is not always possible due to fully booked diaries. You can claim for your travelling costs to be reimbursed for any interviews that don't fall on your signing day,you just need to ask your adviser.

So you are signing weekly (that's once a week) but have advisory interviews in-between. Different offices work different ways I suppose but if costs are killing you, you can ask for travel reimbursement as some else mentioned. It will be for the cheapest route from your home address to the office (that usually means the bus).

Believe it or not but apparently there is also a daily signing thing which can be activated on the jobseeker. Not sure how that works tbh.
