  • I am have a mycash plus prepaid mastercard. They have now introduced a prepaid Eurocard (mastercard) which I got for free (they don't just send you one if you have an account, you ask for it). You transfer money and converts it to Euros at a reasonable rate.

    You can the withdraw euros and pay for things anywhere in the euro zone and you dont get charged or pay a percentage. Seems pretty good to me.

    Catch: you do need to use it or put money in within 12 weeks or you get a sort of "dormant" admin fee. But if you know you are going on holiday you can sort of top up every month or whenever you want and then use it on hloiday. I sort of used it as a form of saving for my holiday. Transferred some money every now and then, and now I go use it for my holiday!
