Do I HAVE to get a buy-to-let mortgage?

Can any experts out there help me, please?
I have recently moved into my partner's house and am thinking of renting out my now vacant flat. The residential mortgage on my flat is my only mortgage. Do I HAVE to change it to a buy-to-let? Is there anyone I am obliged by law to advise?
Thanks in advance
