at last things work out for us.

:j we have been looking at getting a mortgage recently as a few bargain houses have come up in an area we would love to buy. found a house that is on the market for 99,950 and the ea told us there has been little interest since the house went on the market in april and only one offer. we aregoing to have a look at the house on tuesday. knowing we are in quite alot of debt we never though we would be able to get on the property ladder for al least another 5 years but we had some good news. yesterday we sat and worked out all our finances properly and worked out that there are some outgoings we can get rid of that martin classes as painless money saving. also we have surrendered my husbands endowment policy as it was going nowhere in fact losing money and we gott 1441 puound wich will pay of some of the debt. we are going to consolidate some debts into the mortgage as we know the house is worth at least £110000 so we know we could get that money back. when we sat and talked properly we worked out we canhave a nice house and pay of the debts on the same we pay out now.

i know some people dont agree with doing it this way and we might not even get the house yet but my husband is in the forces and we would still be paying this of when he comes out in 3 years so to us it makes sense. we will class the first year as paying of the debts then the rest the mortgage but if we do make the profit we think we can we will be even better of. we are determined to make it work for my sons sake i dont want him to be ashamed of us so we wont be getting in this mess again. We also have family that are in the building trade that will help with ant jobs that need doing so it shouild work. just that much has gone wrong for us recently it is nice to think things are finally going right for us
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

Its nice to hear that things are going better, you certainly sound very positive about it!!

You don't have to justify your decision - if you've thought through the options and come to a decision that works for you that's great!

And your situation is (presumably) only going to keep improving if you don't buy a house soon, so you'll be in a position to get a mortgage at a later date if you don't find the right house now. :T

thats what we thought if we dont get the house oh well we can get a smaller mortgage at a later date but if we do at least we can see were the money is so it works well either way. its just nice to know we can afford it and not be any worse of than we are now. we can smile again at last
