cupcake shops & cake decorating shops in london?

Hi :)

Taking a day trip down to central London tomorrow and I really want to visit one or two cupcake shops!

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also would anyone know of any shops that sell cake decorations? E.g colourful sprinkles. Any online shops for this will be useful also :)

Thank you!

Sorry can't help with the London question, but have a lovely time! Sounds like you've got a great day planned!

Regarding online decorating shops - I use this one http://www.cakescookiesandcraftsshop.co.uk - I'm not sure how competitively priced they are, but I've been pleased when I've ordered from them in the past. I also use Lakeland occasionally too. Would be interested to see where everyone else get their supplies from!

I've ordered online from these people. They have a decent array of stuff on their site. V quick delivery as well.

I was chatting to a colleague about London cupcake shops the other day. I've never been to one but she recommends Lola's in Selfridges and there are other branches and The Hummingbird bakery which has a couple of branches too.

I wouldnt waste your money in any of the Candy Cakes stores, I bought 3 different varieties and they were all foul! It takes alot for me to leave cake but these were dry and tasteless and the icing was just dull.

I use both of the websites given above and have always had great service from both

Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes are amazing! Check on their websites, they have a few stores now. They are around £1.75 each and the icing is gorgeous.

The Red Velvet one is lovely. I have also heard Lola's is good in Selfridges like the previous poster said.

I have tried making them at home but never taste anywhere near as good. I'm glad to live in London.

Hi I am looking for cake decorations to decorate a graduation cake. I have tried the above suggestions but none of the shops cater for graduations. If anybody can help I would be most grateful.
    Thanks.
