Thank you for the advice everyone! I did ring up my local Debenhams but they said you would have to buy something after a free makeover, not sure if they were right or the person I was talking to was just trying to make money.

I don't think they can force you to buy something, I've had make overs then not bothered to buy stuff. Why not go without your purse!

Also, I quite often have dark circles under my eyes. Does that L'Oreal rollerball thing help at all or does anyone know of an eye cream that helps minimise them?

I've yet to find an eye cream that has much effect on dark circles, but have been using the Lacura concealer pen from Aldi on mine and find it really good for covering up the darkness / lightening the area without being too heavy or cakey. As it's in a pen (like YSL Touche Eclat) it's really easy to apply and to carry with you for touch ups.

I think it was £3.99 or maybe £4.99 if you fancy giving it a try.

Their moisturisers are similarly priced and are also pretty good - they have different formulations for dry, combination skin etc as well as their anti aging day & night creams which have had great reviews in the press.
  • I used to use the clinique 3 step but after a poor few months last year I now use garnier nutritionist products, still not cheap cheap but really pleased with them. Some of the products have changed slightly to 'fresh/ youthful radiance' but its the 'green' tubs, I use the day + night creams, under eye pen, face scrub, cleansing milk and rose toner and keeps my dry skin nicely hydrated.

Foundation wise I love Rimmels Renew and Lift, has spf in and feels silky to apply and makes my complexion pretty flawless (it isn't!) without looking orange!
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

I was planning on having some facials before the big day as well, until a therapist told me not to have them at least a fortnight before. They cleanse your skin so thoroughly they can bring out all the spots that are festering underneath the surface!

I'm just sticking to my tried and tested cleanse, tone and moisturise and drinking tonnes of water. Helps me to lose weight aswell!

Is anyone having their eyebrows threaded?
I thought id try it in the next few months to see if i like the shape i get and how long the redness lasts etc

I have my eyebrows waxed every 3-4 weeks anyway, already got my pre-wedding appointment booked!

Eyebrow threading is great, I get mine done every 4-5 weeks. I find the redness tends to last for a good few hours. If I get mine done on a Saturday morning then by evening they're ok. And I love the shape that my threader always does, it looks fab! Be prepared for your eyes to water while it's being done though, it smarts a bit! I'll be having mine done the weekend before I get married I think.

Body shop do makeovers too - and you might find some of their stuff a little bit lighter on the skin.

I don't wear very much make up - my entire beauty routine consists of body shop jojoba day cream and clinique superfit foundation.
    I don't cleanse/tone (I know I should, but I just CBA!!!)
When I get puffy eyes, I use body shops elderflower eye gel, which is kept in my fridge for those occasions...!

I have had professional make up done once, and the girl used bare escentuals mineral make up - it looks really natural (as you would
expect) and my skin didn't feel clogged up after wearing it - but like others have said, what suits one person, doesn't suit another.
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

I get mine threaded, and not by a fancy place either, just a chair in a shopping centre! I love it, the redness takes hardly any time at all to go away and the shape is great. Plus apparently it's much better for your skin than waxing as it doesn't pull as much.
