I sold an item (cash on collection only) 5 days ago. I messaged the buyer asking them when they would like to collect etc and have heard nothing back. I looked in the 'find a member' to see where abouts they are - they're in London, I'm in Manchester! I guess they may have realised their mistake and are avoiding contact. Should I open a dispute yet and if so which type. I really don't want them to pay by Paypal (if there's the small chance 'someone' will collect). Any ideas much appreciated - thx.

I'd open a NPB, I sold something last week collection only & the winner was hundreds of miles away. He hasn't had the courtesy of contacting me to say that he hadn't realised where it was, even though it's on my listings. As soon as the 4 days are up I opened a NPB. My fourth so far this month. I'm going for a record, I only sold 8 things. 50% npb, can anyone beat that?0

This is always a problem when you want cash on collection. As you say opening an nPB means the buyer will probably pay by paypal, but if you don't NPB them then you lose your FVFs.

Still an ongoing problem... I waited 8 days and never had a reply from them so opened an NPB (yesterday). Today they have paid by Paypal. I have sent them a message asking when they would like to collect. I'm absolutely sure they won't due to the distance away they are. Unsure what to do now. They've paid so I presume they'll end up with a refund, leave me a neg and I lose several puonds in fees. :mad:0 -
Is it something that they could arrange to have couriered?0

They won't even reply to my emails. I presume they only paid to avaid a strike. Its a large mirror so i'd rather not courier it. I don't think they cover glass items. Having won a stained glass lightshade once it arrived in several pieces from a well known courier firm. Have just been on live chat and it seems that if I eventually have to refund (and cancel NPB dispute) then I can open a 'cancel transaction' to reclaim my fees. At least I think that what was implied although I thought once a case was closed another couldn't be opened.0 -
I'd have tried for a mutual as the opening gambit.0

I think to cancel & get your fees back it would have to be a mutual, it doesn't sound like they will agree. I assume that they only paid the winning bid & didn't alter the invoice to add p&p? I think that I would message them, thanking them for their payment & ask when they are going to collect, as they've paid by paypal though if they arrange for it to be collected you won't have any online tracking fo if they open a paypal dispute.
What's their feedback like, does it look as though they've had feedback for all they've bought?0 -

Their feedback is good and they have left good feedback - quick payment and they also seem to buy fairly frequently. I also stated in my description cash on collection and my area.0 -

I think that would have been the best bet but I had already read post number 3 at this point.

I don't know whether ebay would do a cancellation without the buyer agreeing if you say that you can't courier due to problems with getting the item insured, or if them not arranging a collection would be grounds for a cancellation. Is it a lot of money, I'm wondering if they just won't bother to collect or contact you.0
