Any ideas what I could do with a load of spare stationery?
I'm having a pre-move chuck out and I have 4 boxes of spare stationery I'm unlikely to use, mainly empty A4 ring binders, lever arch files, envelopes and pads of A4 lined paper - relics from study days. I'm assuming charity shops wouldn't want this stuff because of its low resale value, but I'm reluctant to just throw it away/put it out for recycling.

Find out if there is any school in the area that are collecting stationary items to send to Africa? They are at our school.0

Most schools with small children would welcome it for drawing, painting even a playschool perhaps .my craft club had a clear out from all our left over odds and ends and donated them to my DD's special needs school for the art teacher a couple of weeks ago and we had a huge card made and signed by the children thanking us for they stuff we sent to them. They had a great time with all the different bits and bobs.Far better than binning it and causing more stuff to go into landfill.I always try to find a home first for anything I am getting rid of.0

Got a charity locally you think well of? The childrens hospice, the dog shelter? I bet they'd love you to cut their office running costs a bit. Ring binders and lever arch files aren't cheap new.
If you're stuck I'll tell you where is valuable and always in need- your local womans refuge (google it). They'll meet you and pick them up because refuge locations are private of course, but they are always desperatly underfunded and underresourced because they're not an obviously "feel-good" type of organisation, even though they save thousands of kids from abuse every year. The paperwork they get through is no small consideration, especially if they have a helpline too.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

The children's scrapstore in our area would take things like this. There are scrapstores all over the country and all kinds of community groups, childcare services and charities use them for cheap or free materials.
