From my experience, Criminal Compliance doesn't mean much!

My ex tried to get out of paying for years while he was self employed and working cash in hand in another job. Eventually the CSA told me that Criminal Compliance was involved and they couldn't discuss any further details with me. Anyway, to cut a long story short, they never did anything as far as I could see. He didn't get into any trouble and didn't pay up either. After a couple more years he got a job with an employer and began to make payments via a DEO. Criminal Compliance was never mentioned to me again.

I think CC is supposed to be an investigative team who look into anything 'dodgy' such as self employed declaring a low income or refusing to cooperate etc. and people working 'on the side' for cash. But I don't know what they actually do or if they are ever successful.

Criminal Compliance were involved in our case as my husband is self-employed - the PWC didn't believe the tax returns etc etc.

They got copies of our bank statements, and then managed to make massive incorrect assumptions about credits into our bank accounts, this resulted in a 34k liability order being served on my husband etc etc, now over 2 years on, after getting to the bottom of their mistakes we have cleared our name, and CSA are now to erase/correct the 34k arrears.

Criminal compliance can interview under caution, and will produce reports etc, but in our case they were hopeless, our 4 year old could have assessed us more accurately than they did. Only thing they achieved was retrieve information from previous employers off their own backs, and as said get copies of bank statements/accounts held.

    Don't expect much !!

Have you discussed this with the CSA? What was the outcome?
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.
