Query for a friend:

She holds approx 600 Asda Walmart shares which she obtained in exchange for Asda plc shares when Walmart took over, back in 2000. She now needs to liquidate her holding and wonders if she will be liable for CGT on the proceeds. Looking at receiving around £20,000 - depending upon exchange rate and prices.

It's too long since I worked with CGT for me to give her advice - but I told her that I know some people who can!
