I'm actively seeking work and I've realised many retail companys have online applications.

Please reply with a retail company I can apply to. Thanks very much

Most shopping centres have a website with a store directory. Just browse a few of those and you will have a good list to work from.

Surely the best approach would be to walk around the local towns that you wish to work in and make a note of the shops you wouldn't mind working in and research from there?

It would probably only be the larger organisations that use online applications, and even then the vacancies would be advertised in your local store (at least they are in my local Tesco, Sainsburys, Aldi, etc), and will inform you how to apply, even if that is via online means.

I've just returned from a trip from my local high street and there must be at least half a dozen retailers that are advertising for staff ... most of which almost certainly don't accept online applications.

I suspect some shops don't advertise at all and rely on those seeking working to go in and enquire if there is anything available. I've seen numerous people doing this regularly, handing over CVs to those who express an interest (even if there is nothing currently available) ... and I'm also aware of a number of people who secured their employment using this very method. Afterall the shopkeeper has already then had the opportunity to meet the individual.

Yeah, I would (and have) at first look at the companies you would really like to work for. See if they have any vacancies shown online, if not, go in
to the shop and ask. People like to see faces. If no success with that then just try and get any old job, go in to shops and ask...have some CV's printed ready to give to them.

    TK Maxx
    Topshop
    New Look
    Sainsburys
    Blacks
    Go Outdoors
    HMV
    Currys
    Halfords

As said in a post above go around (even in your head) your local area and write down all shops where you can work. I have a long list of places that use online recruitment and I check all the websites around every 3 days.

i was slightly being sarcastic, go along the high street and you will see loads of shops that you can check online for vacancies, they may not all advertise vacancies but its worth a shot

Jobs are snapped up these days! I'm unemployed too, I also have a degree, not only can't I get a job in my chosen sector but
I can't get an entry level job (which I'd be doing for years) because I'm over qualified!

Take lots of copies of your CV and get them handed out, good luck :-)
