Just a Rant: Annoyed at Agency Who Lied About a Job
Comments

I have loads of crappy agency stories but this one springs to mind:
I was once sent a few "assessment" questions prior to a job interview by an agency, and expressed some concern as to why there were both C# and Java questions for a C# job. The agency said not to worry and to just do the C# ones. I did some of the Java ones too for my own amusement (did Java for a few months years back and wanted to see how I did). Anyway, was asked for interview and as you've probably guessed the company wanted someone who could develop in both so I cut the interview short to save my and their time and suggested that they never used that agency again.0 -
I feel for you.. im being mess around by agencies left right and centre... Send me for an induction in a place where they tell metheres loads of work and then only offering me 1 or 2 days a week if that.. whats the point?one of the famous 5

I've had something similar happen to me in the past. However, it went badly wrong for the agency involved. I was sent for a job interview with a rather upmarket firm of solicitors. When I got there, the person interviewing me started to ask me about my experience with Novell Netware. Well, I didn't have a clue as I was a Windows network professional, not trained in Netware! I'd taken a copy of my CV with me (the one I gave to the agency) and the interviewer asked to take a look at it. Well, the CV they'd been sent was very different in terms of my work experience and professional qualifications and had obviously been doctored to change my skills to match the vacancy. Well, that was the last time that the agency had any involvement with that firm of solicitors outside of the court room!0
