dad buting a house

hiya all, my dad is thinking of buying another house for me and my two children. The house we have seen, the seller is wanting 40k for it.
Can he get a mortgage without putting his house he lives in as equity?
also, can he say they want 50k for it so we have 10k for a depoist?
savings for 2012.. New year new me.. Going to save save save... and not spend spend spend. :rotfl:

Nope fraud, but would not work anyway as your lender and solicitor will want to see the £10000 to be paid along with the £40000mortgage.
