Movie Download Service Query

Hi

I'm not sure whether this is in the right forum, apologies if not.

Anyway, I received an email today about a movie download service at $0.99 a month for unlimited movies: http://69.13.240.194/themoviedownloads_com/wp/www2/index.asp

Has anyone ever used this service before? It sounds too good to be true, which always makes me suspicious.....

Grateful for any feedback

Thanks
Jill

  • It's illegal. It's most-likely using Bittorrent networks, which you can search for free anyway.

you answered your in own question in a way. all this will do is give you a list of sites where you can download movies from on a 'sharing' system... dubiously legal ;)

you should be more worried about what they might possibly use your credit card number for, id THEFT?? Just me being paranoid of course...
    £4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
    £400 O/D Lloyds TSB
    £2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
    £5070 Black Horse Finance

Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!

I joined one and all it does is give you a link to 'shareazea'-a bit torrent site where you can download movies/music for free though i do think its illegal!
  • Thanks for the information everyone - I'll steer clear.

Definitely illegal. Worse still, as bittorrent works by you downloading and uploading simultaneously, you're not just downloading stuff, it can be argued that you're actively involved in it's distribution.

    Definitely steer clear.

For movie downloads try easynews its $9.99 a month for a 20gb download if not used it will add on to the next month, its on a month by month contract I have just moved so I cancelled no problem at all, once I move to my new flat I will join again its not peer to peer and downloading a full movie on 8gb takes 27 Minutes

There is quite a lot on there that is not illegal but you have to tick a box to say you won’t download anything illegal that’s to cover them

  • Yep illegal.

But they made a nice animated flash graphic thing though in the middle of the page :p
  • do you have the URL for Easynews? That certainly sounds more promising
