Hi all
First post, so please be gentle!
I have been reading the comments regarding WFS for some time now as I have Car finance with them which started in Feb 2008.
Anyway, I had to call them a couple of weeks ago regarding changing my bank details, and was asked whether I would consider settling in full. Following reading the posts on here, I told them that I would consider it, only if the figure was sent to me in writing (which it surprisingly was). Since I planned to pay some sort of settlement, I stopped my monthly payment of £152.00 (June payment).
I received a letter (dated 29/05/2010) on 06/06/10. I then wrote back to them on 07/06/2010 with a counter offer of 30% of the settlement figure (cheeky I know, but if you don't ask, you don't get!). I sent it via special delivery, so I know it was received, but to date (21/06/2010), I have not heard anything back from them - not post, nor phone, nor visit!
My question is - do you think I should contact them? The last thing I want is court documents sent to me saying they want to take my car! I have had it now for over 28 months, and the original loan was for 48 months, so I know they cannot just cart it away without me knowing, but part of me is scared that they might.
Any help much appreciated!

You should absolutely not stop paying until a settlement has been agreed.0
-
The only thing you are likely to get from this is a a series of late payment markers on your credit file and default. NEVER stop paying before a settlement has been agreed and actioned.0

What on God's Earth made you think stopping the repayments was a good idea??

As posted already, I think your credit file is going to be shot to pieces in double quick time if you cancel your repayments.
I think you should contact them again ASAP0 -
If you've only missed the june payment then call them ASAP and set it back up, they may not put a missed payment marker on your credit file if you catch them quickly ad before they report to the CRAs.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
