OK, help me think this one through

All of a tizzle on this, and Im not too sure what to do

I have some bank charges coming back to me ( I expect) within the next few days, totalling 1560+ pence

Heres my debt ( i think ive underestimated my debt somewhere along the line, but lets go with this for now)

Student Loan 631.18 owing, currently on deferment due to reduced income APR ( reducing tomorrow, Ive just been told to) 2.4%

Barclaycard 51.28 owing @ 19%

Egg 0% 1898.14 ( paying 50pcm at the mo) expires in about 6 months

Smile bank account ( mortgage & bills 727.16 in credit, interest free OD of 500 unused (at the mo)

Old Ltsb OD 500 od, trying to clear this off, no plan in place for this yet, just moved bank accounts this month to A&L ( think its 9% could be wrong there, the advisor didnt know

A&L 428.47 OD, on a 700 OD 0% ( living in this @ the mo)

Sofas 0%, goes to 28% in October

SO, where should I pay?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

How much do you owe on the sofas lynz?
    Saving for an early retirement!
  • I'd exterminate Barclaycard (for the satisfaction) and (don't know how much these are) then the sofas if both of those can be paid off with your charges.

However, the sofas would be my priority as 28% is a complete rip off!!!

    Hi Lynz,

if I were you I'd put away the amount owing on the sofas so that you can pay that before the rate goes up.

Maybe put the rest into the flat selling budget. This is just what I would do - I'm sure someone will come up with a better suggestion.

lynz congrats on getting your money back victory party round your place (painting party obviously lol) i would pay the barclay card first just to get it out your face the psychological boost alone is gonna be great ..then depending on how much you owe for those lovely sofa's (put that money by or give to parents to hold for you) if you have any money left pay some to those wonderful green egg people means you'll have less interest when the 0% disappears in 6 months ..saying that you want the £500 one out your face too how about paying that one off and your £428.47 one off with the sofa money just now then just before the sofa's are due to give you their nasty surprise ..give them one instead by denying them thier profit...lynz it is a tricky one i'd just go and buy penny caramels lol(if only)..what ever you do decide to do all the best and congrats again on beating the system

Barclaycard and then the sofa's - how much do you have left on these?

28% APR makes me die a little inside.
Also, find out the overdraft on the TSB OD - you need to know where you stand.

How much APR will you be paying on the Egg card? I'd be tempted to overpay this to get the balance right down before the 0% offer expires.

The OD - find out the APR and work out a plan for this, but depending on the APR on the egg card in 6 months I'd be chucking money at that one.
  • surely it would have to be your old loyds tsb overdraft or part of it? ...it seems to be the highest apr you have left.
and if you are currently living in your overdraft i would use anything left for this.....either keep the cash and use or pay it into overdraft to lower it so you can continue using.
