Hi,
Can I just sound you guys out for a bit of advice please.
I have been recieving several phonecalls from a company called AIC based in scotland regarding one of my debts.
I am aware the debt exists and it is owed to NatWest Bank, out of the blue this AIC contact me emanding instant payment which is impossible. I wrote them a letter firstly stating I will only communicate via written forms (I am on strong pain medication which can confuse me) and for them to send me proof that they own the debt following which I will discuss repayment.
Well they have continued to telephone me - after 10pm sometimes. They also sent me a first letter with a standing order form but this is the bit I am suspicious about.
It looks really amateur, the letter was on a badly photocopied letter head just a header no other info about the company then a general typed letter. And still no proof they are legit and own my debt
Can any one advise if I should form a payment plan with them or still press for more information on them, if so how?
Thanks for your help

Hi
You could write to Natwest and get them to confirm that the debt has been passed to AIC - but if it is Allied International Credit then I can confirm that they are a real collection agency and have been established for a number of years.
But they are not allowed to call you after 8pm or 9pm (sorry cant remember which) there is more info on the Payplan site here - http://www.payplan.com/debt-library/bailiffs-harrassment.php
I think the photocopied sheets is just their way of cutting costs!
Probably not the nicest people to deal with but should be fine to setup a regualr payment with them?
Hope that helps
