in Cutting tax
Hi,
I hope someone can help me
In the last tax year (09/10) I worked between August and the end of December. The rest of the time I was claiming JSA - two separate claims, the first between April and August 2009 and the second between January and April 2010.
I earned around 9000 pounds and got around 1500 pounds in benefit all together. I paid emergency tax on all my taxable income.
Am I right in thinking that I will get a tax refund due to the fact I have a tax free allowance that I have paid tax on.
My main point is that I have received my P60u and it only has information about my taxable benefit for my current JSA claim and no information about my taxable income or my taxable benefit from 2009. Will I need an updated P60u to get my refund.

You should have a p45 from when you signed off in August.
If you do not have this, contact the jobcentre and ask them for a statement of benefit received during the claim period.
This along with the P60U and P45 from your employment would then need to be submitted to HMRC in order for them to complete the assessment.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
