When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D:D

Gooooood morning lovelies:T
A really quick post from me today - for the first time in ages I have to go out this morning - DD2 is off on a school trip for the week so got to wave her off at school....awww I'm going to miss her!

Off to the farm shop for a cuppa and cake with some other mums after...nice.
Hope you all had a fab weekend and that the sun is shining where you are:D
Ok, my list:
  • check banking
  • daily scratch
  • packed lunch for DD2
  • not an NSD...but will keep it low
  • meal from plan tonight - dd1 cooking spag bol
  • mince out of freezer
  • investigate buying a 2nd freezer
  • washing on quickwash and on line to dry
  • water heating on for minimum time
Ok, must get on and make sure dd's not forgotten anything!
Have a great day:beer:
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Usual kind of [STRIKE]mid-week [/STRIKE] weekday ;) stuff for me today:
    • Porridge with raisins (cheaper than cranberries)
    • Dug out something to take to work - cheese & leftover pesto sandwich
    • No NSD as sponsoring someone at work £5
    • Making some more wedding invites - so much cheaper than buying them ready made!
    • Enjoy a free cuppa in work
    • Put some coins in the jar - this weekend I found 20p in the laundry basket, 50p on the floor and another 20p under the computer! Result.
Happy Monday everyone! Enjoy the longest day!

    xx

Morning all. We had a busy weekend - completed 27 jobs from my list of 31! Busy, busy...

    Well today I have:
    • run DW overnight and now emptied
    • run WM overnight and hung out to dry
    • had a bath before 7 o'clock so using cheap rate elecricity
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • had home-made granola with organic, allotment strawberries for breakfast :D
    I will also:
    • deliver half a dozen eggs and get paid
    • just buy two plain rolls for lunch as I have butter at work and left over roast gammon to put in them
    • send DH off to visit his parents for a few days with presents of our eggs, strawberries and a jar of home-made grapefruit marmalade
    • catch up with household accounts when I get home
I'm a bit worried about going to work today. I went in yesterday and totally rejigged my office - moved desks, filing cabinets and the two computer systems I use. One desk was covered in "archiving" from many moons ago which I have boxed and pushed under the spare desk.
Why am I worried? My boss is a real control freak and will probably go mad!

    Morning all!
Giving myself a kick up the bum and back onto the MSE trail (old MSE-er but somewhat lapsed!), especially needed now as we are expecting baby 2 in December :j. Some of these things might look like biggies but obviously are not things I can do every week ie sell car lol!

    Today:
    BIG
Do a ring around and sell our car (not as dramatic as it sounds- it's Sorn'd, and in bad shape but I can get £80-£100 for it). I don't drive, DH walks to work, preschool etc is all very closeby so we are going carless for a while to save up and get a better car before baby.
Cancel car insurance (unless there is a big penalty) and RAC cover.
Sell gazebo & event/picnic table no longer required.

    SMALLER:
Freezer/fridge/cupboards sortout - use up week, and alter online weekly shop accordingly.
Review all my incomings / outgoings inc DD's
Get some things on freecycle (less cluttered, more organised).
    Start a NSD log
Order soapnuts (split order with Mum)

Think that'll do for a start off
    MSE-ing since 2007

    * Checked on-line banking...not too bad!:)
    * Storecupboard lunch and dinner
    * NSD - hopefully!
    * Mask up skirting and coving in living room so me and OH can just crack on with glossing after tea tonight
    * Make some small cakes as house is cakeless!!!
    * Go to work :(
    * Work out mealplan for week as haven't done it yet!

    Miss P
    xx

Mid week La-E? I wish I did your job, I'm day one today!

Today is started with a realisation I have major back ache and major sun burn...grr. Well this is due to sitting in the sun chopping up some pallets into bags of kindling for the winter, I have 4 bags = £20 worth of kindling. I also have LOADS of wood left to process that I was just too tired to do yesterday!
Not sure the ache and burn is worth £20???

    My list today is:-
    - HC on over night (rescued "free" stuff from DB2's garage)
    - HC on line to dry
    - Get invoicing together
    - Check banking/CC's
    - Phone tax credits to try and update with CB number and impress the urgency on them
    - Text friend to see if she can have DD on Wed AM due to NSOH being an idiot
    - Chicken out of freezer to make dinner, not sure what yet
    - Definately sparkle!

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

use cc vouchers for dinner out this evening

I am determined to get back into the swing of things this week without that panicky feeling that I haven't got stuff done:o
