you can "port" the number to a PAYG sim card on the same ( or another Network ) , ask customer services to port over on the same network , ask for a PAC code to move it to anotherEx forum ambassador

if your not in debt on the bill you can keep the phone and you dont have to tell the company about your BR
if you can afford to keep the contract I would say keep it as you wont get another one for 6 years

I kept my mobile contract through my bankruptcy and Orange didn't say a word.0

I just 'forgot' to tell O2, i never missed a payment with them and upgraded in may 2010 whilst i was still undischarged no problem.0

I haven't told O2, and just kept paying it, if you're not including any debt in your BR you can pay it out of your surplus.0

oh this is so good to know! i was worried thinking i will lose my phone and car and seems like through everyone's help on here i will HOPEFULLY keep both! which is great as i don't think i could live without my blackberry, and its only a £20 a month contract. I am with orange too so nice to hear about someone who has had experience with them specifically. I have never missed a payment so hopefully it will be ok. Thanks all.0
