Hi,
First off can I just say thank you to everyone on here. Have been looking for a while and have got so many great tips. Have recently become a stay at home mom and this forum is how I have made ends meet!!
Secondly if this is in the wrong place sorry - feel free to move it!
Right I have been wanting to make some chicken nuggets, burgers etc for the freezer and freeze prior to cooking ready to cook when needed - like the birds eye versions.
Couple of questions - could I cook from frozen as you do with shop bought ones? Also many of the meats purchased in supermarket say use as soon as opening (assume they are vacuum packed or something similar). Does this mean If I open and turn into nuggets etc I cannot freeze unless I cook them first? Just don't want to poison my children! This has stopped me turning my chickens into portions prior to freezing also so would be great to know if I am just being paraniod.
Thanks for the help:)

Yep, you're being paranoid! :rotfl: Only joking.

But seriously, it's fine to make the burgers and nuggets and then freeze them uncooked if the meat hasn't previously been frozen. If it's been frozen and defrosted, then you'll need to cook them before re-freezing.
You should be able to cook them from frozen, but obviously you'll have to make sure that they're hot all the way through, so cook them longer than you would if they were just chilled.0
