Anni - as they freeze so brilliantly why not just do that for now. Then as you feel like it you can use them in cakes/muffins/with icecream/make jam. Open freeze and then bag up HTH
New iron very good, hot work as it creates more steam.
Off to clean the kitchen sink next, I'm on a mission to get the house shipshape with summer hols approaching. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Am now trying to summon the energy to iron...
gerbils seems to be two boys and 1 mum; fortunately they already had a spare cage so boys now separated...mum and babies delicately transferred to the tank untouched by human hands...
I have PM'd the preservers year thread link to the lady with the raspberries...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Carlsbergal - that really is the best news. I'm so pleased for you and your family. Hope DD isn't too sore and reinforce the need for rubber rings (check the National Childbirth trust for your local valley cushion agent)
Pigpen Hope you can find some respite from the heat. DS1 was also a july hottest day of the year baby. He is currently in charge of the hosepipe and everyone and my washing line is sopping wet.
Serena - what a lovely day with DD! I actually bought my DD a dress in Brighton and she likes it (faints in amazement)
Boddy how fantastic to pay off your mortgage. I'm thrilled for you and even more determined to conquer ours before the term is out.
We're off on holiday next Sunday. DS1 has his last GCSE tomorrow and DD1 sits her last A Level on Tuesday. DS3 has a non pupil day tomorrow so another lay in for me. Hooray!!!
Done lots of washing today but am struggling to get it dry with the ongoing water fight in the garden.
DH is barbequeing on the already blackened garden table.
Hope everyone has had a lovely day and look forward to seeing everyone on the new thread shortly......0 -
Well today I have:
Done a freezer inventory
Stripped the bed and put the sheets in the wash
Hung out the sheets
Remade the bed with new sheets (apart from wrestling the duvet into its cover - will wait til it's cooler later tonight)
Made chocolate crispy cakes
Been to the pub for a drink and crisps with Moon and Mum
Then we went to the ice cream shop and bought ice cream too (1 scoop chocolate, 1 coffee latte, and a fudge stick)
Came home and ate one crispy cake (yummy)
Folded sheets from the line and put them away
Cleaned the kitchen worktops and small appliances
Collapsed onto this chair with a pint glass full of water and a headache!
Lots of BBQs going on around here - we're having veggie sausages, mash and beans at 8.45pm when Moon gets home from shooting.

Hurrah for Crafty :T
Believe me, I sympathise.
I have elderflower champagne all over the pantry.
Valli, may I have a link to the preservers year too?
Serena - the Clothes Show sounded good, unlikely as it sounds I have always fancied going.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
