Do you think Avon is for me?

I'm moving to a new area soon and will be needing a job which will fit in around my baby.
I have been toying with the idea of 'doing Avon' for a while and thought I would pick your brains.
I am not into pushy selling which is why I'm a little apprehensive. I don't want to be trying to sell products to my friends and have them all groaning that here i come again with the latest leaflets etc! But I'd prefer to just be more laid back, drop leaflets through doors and just see what I collect along the way. but would this kind of attitude actually earn me money? Or do I have to be more pushy?
Are there start up costs? Is it realistic to think I'd only be working at times to suit me (Evenings mainly with some afternoons)? I don't want to work full time or to feel over pressured with work as this is a bit of a career break time for me before I begin my next degree.
Please let me know your thoughts and if you think it's something I should continue to look into or whether I should just look for something else.
Thanks!

No, you don't need to be pushy as the brochures do most of the selling for you! I am lousy at sales but great at customer care and it works well for me.
As Mrs Hornsey suggests, pop along to the Avon thread. The first few pages will explain the basics and you can ask any question you like from the girls. See you there.
Just to add that I did avon before my daughter, whilst pregnant and afterwards (with help from DH and my boys). DD is now just over 2 years old. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'
