LOL I had to post to tell you this one...
DD1 has a pretty good range of foods she eats to say she's 2 and a half. However despite trying her with salady stuff and rice, she has never eaten these, though she will eat cherry tomatoes and on occasion rice mixed in with her chilli (and the rice we hide in burgers and whatnot but sssh, don't tell her that...)
Anyway I found out the other day from one of her nursery nurses, that at nursery she happily scoffs away on salad and also rice dishes, and clears her plate every time!
Why oh why won't she eat them at home?!?!?!?

Hee hee... nothing quite like the way children eat things when they are surrounded by other children eating th same, but then say they don't like it when they're at home. I'm ashamed to say I used to be the same about cabbage when I was young :rolleyes:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500

Do they chop the salad up more ? My kids liked the taste of salad but couldnt get to grips with the actual chewing when they were really small.
Cant beleive the little darlings would be sneaky enough to eat differntly out of our presence (much!)

I've been a childminder for 13 years and the parents are often astounded of what they'll eat in my care.
I'm not a fantastic cook (ohhh I wish!!!) ....I just think they're more willing for others (same as normally they're better behaved for others too)0 -
I can remember as a child only eating the soft bit of a boiled egg and refusing to eat the harder yolk or any of the white. One day I was at my cousins house and she had a cousin of hers there too and we were all made a boiled egg. They ate all the yolk, soft and hard and most of the white and so I did too because I just knew they would remark on it if I didn't. I couldn't bear for them to say anything and would rather eat it.
My mum arrived and said "She's eaten all her egg. She never eats it all like that!" My cousin and her cousin both looked at me surprised and I went bright red! Thanks mum!0 -
