Anybody with a tan skin tone buy foundation from Lancome ??

Ok, i went to Debenhams and straight to the Lancome counter, there were many things on sale, many kinds of foundations, like always the lady came to try to help me , tho i always like doing my own thing.
Anyway.. i asked for a foundation and she told me that she did not have any foundation for tan skin, that my skin is too dark... mmm my skin color is like Eva Longoria ? that number 04 is was too light for me, lets try the number 05 which was so dark that needeed a lot of blending, and she asked if i thought it was too light for me ? I did not say anything, then she said it would be better for me to buy a bronzer, i said no, i have many, i want a foundation, and she said the same.
It is not the first time this happens to me, before i went to Elizabeth Arden counter and the lady tried to sell me a foundation that looked like for black skin tone... saying that it was my perfect match. of course i left it.

I just think that everyone thinks that we even the ones that are tan want to look tanner ? i dont want a mask in my face, i want something that will look natural...

I was a bit annoyed... then left.... i am in Loreal i am always a buff or a sand.. is it too dificult to try to get a good match in more expensive make up ?
Also i think that many people who work in beauty are not prepare at all, they only know how to do make up for a light skinned person.
I have to add i do not live in London, i live in a place where the majority of people is white, blonde... and the girls use their foundation to look tan.

Hi, I am mixed race, like you I used to try the "premium" brands with little or no success, On the off chance I went to Boots and have stuck with them ever since, the member of staff was very helpful matching foundatons to my skintone, I use No 7 Stay Perfect in tan it costs £15 and is a lovely natural foundation.

    Hiya,

I too am mixed race and blessed with rather good skin so I find Benefit's tinted moisturiser gives great coverage and teamed with there play stick concealers for not so good skin days.
If you are specifically looking for a foundation try Mac, Bobbi Brown and YSL they are pricey but do last. I'm lucky enough to live in London so these brands are everywhere if you dont have any depatment stores with these brands near you make sure you find your colour next time you are near one as you can always order on-line! Happy findings!
