Hello, I am a first time poster, and wonder if anyone can give me any info or advice on my present situation ? I was in a mountain of debt a few years ago, and registered with the CCCS who were very friendly and helpful. I think I owed around £30000, I paid them for around 2 years, and the last I checked (which was a few years ago) I still owed about £19900. However the last contact I had with them was very early (Jan or Feb) 2006, when I decided to live and work abroad. I have now been out of the UK for a few years, and would like to know what my situation would be, should I choose to return to the UK. I cannot even remember who I owe money to, I think there were around 7 or 8 creditors, credit cards, loans and store cards. Will there be CCJs registered against my name ? If I return to live in the UK after 6 years without contact with any of my creditors, can they chase me for the money I owe ? I understand this sounds very shallow, but I am not proud of what I have done.

It all depends on what date your creditors registered your CCJs to be honest. They are wiped off the dreadit file after six years if I understand correctly. Someone else will be along shortly to give you a better opinion.
