Cheque from the OR

Hi Guys,
Long time since i've been on here as we we're discharged in 2008. Couldn't believe it this morning !! a cheque for £4000 has just arrived from The Insolvency Service in Birmingham. There is no accompanying letter or anything just a very official looking A4 piece of paper stating "remittance Advice" with a cheque at the bottom for four grand.

Does anyone know why or what the hell it is before we get off to spain :j

Thank you

It would depend on your circumstances i suppose, did the OR manage to recover enough assets to pay off your debts? could this money be 'left over' after all creditors were paid?
If this is not the case I would suggest the easiest thing would be to contact the OR to find out what it is, you really dont want to be cashing a cheque that isnt really ment for you and them to chase you for it back...
I hope it is legit, would be a nice holiday for you :)

Still waiting for mine. :( No such luck.

Definitely check with the OR before you do anything......
